从谢曹闽的作品中，我们能看到一个不断跨越边界的艺术家：一直在权衡不同的历史和自身对文化的独特解读。
这些绘画作品的复杂形态代表着印度教和佛教传统的形而上意象，这些意象是视觉化的宇宙，也是辅助冥想的工具。实际上，谢曹闽称这个系列为“曼荼罗”，这也体现了艺术家创造力的另一面，即对佛教教义、造像和精神实践的浓厚兴趣。
其他画廊很荣幸展出常驻美国的中国艺术家谢曹闽的最新作品，为了让观众对作品有更深刻的了解，其他画廊•北京空间同时展示两大系列，并且由西门柯壁撰文。
Xie Caomin’s creative work reveals an artist who routinely crosses boundaries; a continual process of negotiation between the disparate histories and modes of thinking that make up his own, unique, cultural understanding.
The complex forms of these paintings refer to the metaphysical images of the Hindu and Buddhist traditions, images that serve as visualizations of the cosmos and aids to meditation. Indeed, in calling the series Mandala Xie Caomin reveals yet another facet of this artist’s creative persona; that is an active interest in Buddhist philosophy, iconography and spiritual practice.
The OTHER GALLERY is proud to present the latest works by US based Chinese artist Xie Caomin. To gain a profound overview of his oeuvre the exhibition contains two series displayed together at OTHER GALLERY | Beijing space with a curatorial text by Simon Kirby.
