跨媒体艺术学院简介
在全球范围内，新兴媒体艺术的发展已成为衡量各国艺术教育水准和创意产业活力的重要指标。近年来，中国美术学院在新兴媒体研究和当代艺术创作领域始终位居前沿，赢得了巨大的国际声誉。早在20世纪80年代开始，中国美术学院的媒体艺术探索即已成为中国新兴媒体艺术史的先声。世纪之交，新媒体艺术研究中心成立，标志着国内新兴媒体艺术体制建设的开端。2003年，新媒体艺术系、综合艺术系以及展示文化研究中心成立；2007，年艺术策划系成立……这一系列系科的创建，不断推动着中国当代艺术的发展，同时也不断地为当代艺术教育开启新的篇章。
为进一步推动中国当代艺术的研究和教育，中国美术学院在学科建制上进行全方位的优化和整合，建立跨媒体艺术学院。该学 院是中国美院最新 锐的学科集群，由新媒体系、综合艺术系、艺术策划系整合而成，也是中国第一所实验艺术学院。这是学术传统渊深的中国美术学院在新的历史境域中，为应对世界视觉文化和创意经济的发展态势以及日益增长的社会需求，为了进一步推动当代艺术和创意媒体的发展而迈出的又一新的学术脚步，其宗旨在于：促进媒体技术开发，推动当代艺术实验，从媒体中发掘创意，从技术中发显人文；以媒体实验、艺术创作、文化研究、策展实践四维互动的跨学科教育格局，全面优化当代艺术教育的教学模式，推动当代艺术的跨学科研究和跨领域实践；注重媒体手段与思想方法的综合训练，培养掌握新媒体技术、具有实验精神和自主创新能力的当代艺术与创意人才。
跨媒体艺术学院由工作室、实验室以及研究策划部三个教学-研究平台组成，下设5个工作室、3个研究所、8个实验 室；同时，学院还在上海设立国际跨媒体艺术中心，用于跨媒体艺术的国际交流与展示。
I.工作室：
以创作推动教学，以研究深化基础，在学院与社会的互动中培养学生的学术视野和研发能力。

学术目标：从技术和观念角度，深入探索媒介的表现方法和感觉机制，强调新媒体手段与身体、行为之间的互动关系。代表课程包括：身体媒介、空间反应、数字的物理感知等。
实验影像工作室
主持人：杨福东
教 师：矫 健、高芙雁
学术目标：全面探索传统摄影与数字图像在当代艺术中的可能性，通过对摄影、声音和运动影像的综合性开发，推进当代影像艺术的感性实验。代表课程包括：古典摄影——技法与美学、影像叙事与诗学、数码影像的媒体拓展等。
空间多媒体工作室
主持人：管怀宾
教师：高世强、郑 波
学术目标：从当代媒体-技术空间中构造空间美学，以装置与影像等多种方式开发媒体空间的叙事潜能，同时，注重公共领域中的媒体与艺术实践。代表课程包括：造景与造境、装置语言——材料与现成品、录像作为社会媒介等。
开放媒体工作室
主持人：沈立功
教 师：李振鹏、姚大钧、崔鲁海
学术目标：把互联网的虚拟世界看作现实中不可或缺的景观，用开阔的视野考察既有的媒体形式，对领先科技进行人文再造，思考个人化媒体终端在开放条件下的艺术生产与社会应用。代表课程包括：虚拟世界——在线实时三维拟境的现实应用、从虚拟乐器出发的声音与影像介入、媒体素描——数字图像技术等。
总体艺术工作室
主持人：邱志杰
教 师：杨劲松、吴俊勇
学术目标：以文化研究为知识基础的当代艺术教学体系；以社会现场为平台的跨媒体艺术实践，以事件与现场为中心的综合性艺术创作。代表课程包括：表演\剧场\事件与身体政治; 艺术制度批判与日常生活; 媒体经验与社群重构; 田野调查和介入性创作等
II.研究策划部：
研究策划部是一个集合文化研究、媒体批判与当代艺术策展实践的跨学科机构，一个艺术、媒体与政治的国际性思想空间，一个直面中国当代社会现实的思想-艺术实验室。其宗旨是在文化研究、媒体研究与策展研究的基础上推动当代艺术的跨学科研究和跨领域实践。

III.实验室
跨媒体艺术学院下设声音艺术实验室、数字图形与互动艺术实验室、录像艺术实验室、数码暗房实验室、动力装置实验室、虚拟感官实验室、跨媒体展示与表演实验室以及综合材料实验室。作为跨媒体艺术学院的重要教学平台，实验室面对所有工作室开放，施行网络预定与管理制度。
跨媒体艺术学院现有学生数240人，其中博士生18人，硕士研究生42人。

I. Studios:
The Studios are established to promote teaching, solidify the foundation of research, and foster students’ academic vision and research and development capabilities through the interaction between the school and the society.
Embodied Media Studio
Director: ZHANG Peili
Teachers: ZHANG Liaoyuan, and WU Juehui
Academic objective: In the aspects of technique and concept, explore deep into media representation approaches and sensory mechanisms, emphasize the interactive relations between new media techniques, body, and behavior. Representative courses include body media, spatial reaction, and digital/physical perception.
Experimental Image Studio
Director: YANG Fudong
Teachers: JIAO Jian, and GAO Fuyan
Academic objective: Fully explore the possibility of the traditional photography and digital images as applied in contemporary art, and promote the perceptual experiment of contemporary visual art by integrated development of photography, sound and motion. Representative courses include classical photography—technique and aesthetics, image narration and poetics, media expansion of digital image, etc.
Installation & Narrative Environment Studio
Director: GUAN Huaibin
Teacher: GAO Shiqiang, and ZHENG Bo
Academic objective: Construct spatial aesthetics from contemporary media and technical space, develop the narrative potential of media space in a wide spectrum of modes, such as installation and image, and at the same time, focus on media and art practices in public sectors. Representative courses include landscaping and environment shaping, language of installation—material and found objects, video as social media, and so on.
Open Media Studio
Director: SHEN Ligong
Teachers: LI Zhenpeng, YAO Dajun, and CUI Luhai
Academic objective: Viewing the virtual world of the Internet as an essential part of reality, the studio examines the existing media forms with an open vision, infuses leading technologies with humanistic concerns, and explores the artistic production and social applications of personal media clients in an open environment. Representative courses include virtual world―application of online 3-D real-time simulated environments, social media art, sound and image interactions, and media sketches—digital image technology, and so on.
Total Art Studio
Director: QIU Zhijie
Teachers: YANG Jinsong, and WU Junyong
Academic objective: Implement the contemporary art teaching system with cultural research as the knowledge base; conduct intermedia art practices with the social site as the platform, and carry out integrated artistic creation with event and site as the center. Representative courses include performance/theatre/event and body politics, critique of art system and daily life, media experience and social reconstruction, field research and interventionist art.
II. Research and Curatorial Department:
The Research and Curatorial Department is an interdisciplinary institution that integrates cultural studies, media criticism, and curatorial practice of contemporary art. It is an international space for thoughts on art, media and politics, a thinking-art lab directly facing the contemporary social reality in China. This department aims to deepen the interdisciplinary research and cross-frontier practice of contemporary art on the basis of cultural studies, media research and curatorial research.

III. Laboratories
Under the School of Intermedia Art, the following labs are established: sound art lab, digital-image and interactive art lab, video art lab, digital darkroom lab, dynamic installation lab, virtual sensory lab, cross-media display and performance lab, and mixed media lab. As important teaching platforms of the School of Intermedia Art, the labs are open to all studios, with reservations being managed online.
The School of Intermedia Art currently has a total of 240 students, including 18 doctoral students and 42masters students.
