阿尔勒新发现奖︱The Parallel State

“平行国度”的本义是指于20世纪50年代在土耳其境内被北约控制的机构,是相继上任的政坛领袖们支持的“为善而恶”的势力。当埃尔多安当权后,他注重在媒体、警察、司法、军队和外国势力上消除这一势力的影响,在他看来,构成平行国度的力量需要为国家的冲突和痛苦负责。

Originally, the term "Parallel State" designated NATO-controlled cells in Turkey in the 1950s, a "necessary evil for good" that successive political leaders have supported. When Erdogan came to power, he became polarized in the media. He claimed that the police, the judiciary, the army and foreign powers were trying to discredit him, all forming a parallel state responsible for the problems of his country.

这一论调成为了最流行的口号,提出它的领导掌握了国家全部的警卫力量,并用它来驱逐无处不在的不确定的敌人。回应了西欧和美国的警察在各种场合使用的“恐怖主义”的论调。

This phrase has thus become the populist slogan of a ruler who has all the powers in a police state who hunts down an uncertain but omnipresent enemy, echoing European and U.S. polices’ usage of "terrorist forces" to desinage their enemies.

盖·马丁的系列包含从盖齐公园的黄金时代到2016年的政变企图和随后的清洗。我们也会在展览中看到土耳其热播电视剧拍摄现场的照片,尽管是噩梦般的幻想,但这也是现实的土耳其历史记录。

The current series of Guy Martin includes photos from on the blessed era of the Gezi park to the coup attempt in 2016 and the purges that followed. There are also photographs taken on the Turkish soap operas, as nightmarish but nevertheless realistic images that document the recent history of Turkey.

通过社交媒体上的照片,这些不可或缺但是并不可靠的信息和强大的现代媒介,盖·马丁发现了过度曝光于媒体前的人群的表演性,存在于土耳其和世界其他地区的当代生活的氛围,以及实体与虚拟、可见与不可见、事实与虚构之间的交互。以批判的方式,这一系列在关注到一切视角都是片面的危险断言的同时,展示了一个缺少客观事实的被谎言割裂的社会。

To contemporary society, social media provides both indispensable sources of information as well as unreliable and powerful vectors of modern era. Guy Martin tackles the new performativity of a population overexposed to the media, the ambivalences of contemporary life in Turkey and elsewhere, as well as the interactions of the physical and the virtual, the visible and the invisible, the facts and the fiction. While taking a critical view of the dangers of asserting that all perspectives are biased, this series shows what happens to a society divided by lies and where objective facts are missing.

集美·阿尔勒国际摄影季还将陆续揭晓其他重要内容,摄影季将继续通过10余个由青年策展人策划的展览项目以及“集美·阿尔勒发现奖”为中国摄影师搭建重要的发声场。此外,摄影季还将每年关注一个亚洲国家的摄影状况,并以此确立其展现亚洲摄影的平台定位。而今年,印度尼西亚将作为特邀国参与到摄影季中。
